Francesco Camarda’s path, currently, is firmly upwards, and AC Milan will have him back at the club next season. However, what role he plays must be decided.
Given the situation with Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku, there is a case that could be made about Camarda’s use now. However, if the season had gone how the club expected, the Italian would be struggling to get a look in.

Ultimately, last season, they had him available when needed, and his development was potentially set off-course a little. Now, though, he is getting regular Serie A minutes, and he can hope to return with a view to the future.
Camarda and Milan
With the Italian U21 team, he is flying. He already looks very comfortable for the Azzurrini, and that is only a good thing for all parties. Continuing this form into Serie A, then, is the next step, and he can be hopeful.

There is a difference between scoring against U-21 in comparison to seasoned professionals in the most tactically and defensively acute league in the world. There is no point in speculating on his future until there are consistent results on the top stage. Hyping him up because of performances in youth competitions does nothing to help.
Of course you have to be careful with youngsters but if you’re too careful, they will simply build a career elsewhere. The team that currently sit top of the the best league in the world are giving minutes to 16 and 17 year olds.
From Milan’s perspective, Camarda isn’t at Lecce to score a bag of goals – they play on the back foot – this is a challenge for strikers however seasoned they are. He is there to get used to playing with men and from what I’ve seen he’s doing just fine.
We are not a superpower any more and young Italians are worryingly trendy in England – he won’t wait for us forever.
Camarda is on the wrong side of 30 for Allegri.
