Pellegatti: Loss against Liverpool at ‘scary’ Anfield will ‘make Milan grow’

By Oliver Fisher -

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that AC Milan will learn a lot from their 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield last night.

It was a classic European game overall, as Liverpool took an early lead through a deflected Alexander-Arnold shot, but Milan came storming back and went 2-1 up with goals from Rebic and Brahim Diaz. The home side answered back after the break through Salah and won it with a Jordan Henderson strike.

Pellegatti spoke on his YouTube channel about the 3-2 defeat in Liverpool against Klopp’s side, and he stressed that the team did well to cope with such a tough atmosphere.

“I experienced very strong sensations in a stadium like that of Anfield which is very involved, scary and terrible. Milan were initially overwhelmed by Liverpool, conceded a goal, Maignan saved the penalty and then little by little they came out and started playing,” he said (via MilanNews).

“The two goals that overturned the game and then the defeat came out in the second half. There is some regret for having conceded the 2-2 with 3 minutes into the second half and having conceded the third goal from Bennacer’s block. This match against Liverpool will make Milan grow. The Rossoneri were proud, strong and courageous.”
