Pellegatti: Milan target three or four experienced players for the summer transfer window

By Oliver Fisher -

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti has revealed that AC Milan will not only focus on signing young players in the upcoming transfer window.

The Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have thus far deployed a recruitment strategy focused on buying young players with high potential and developing them in order to record capital gains on the balance sheet.

However, Milan continue to be linked with a number of experienced players such as Thiago Silva and Ivan Rakitic, plus the likes of Simon Kjaer and of course Zlatan Ibrahimovic could extend their stays.

Pellegatti has offered an update on Milan’s summer market via his YouTube channel, describing it as a ‘mercato for opportunities’ in which the club will target interesting young players, but – unlike a few months ago – three or four experienced players will also be added.

He goes on to state that some targets have already been identified and that the lessons have been learned from the summer window, in which six players arrived but the oldest was 25 years old.
