Pellegatti explains why he would ‘not accept’ missing out on Scudetto: “Totally unbearable”

The media fallout after AC Milan’s latest slip in the Scudetto race continues and Carlo Pellegatti is the latest to reflect on last night’s disappointing result.

Milan were looking to bounce back from a disappointing 0-0 draw against Bologna when they faced Torino last night, but were held to the same scoreline. It was another resolute defensive performance from Milan but they failed to take advantage of it by firing another blank at the end of the field.

With Inter winning against Verona on Saturday, it puts the Rossoneri’s position at the top of the table under threat and it is now out of their hands with six games left, because if the Nerazzurri win every game then the title is theirs.

Pellegatti was interviewed on Radio 24 and was asked about how Milan are shaping up ahead of the final six league games after the season having dropped points in their last two games.

“For me it would be totally unbearable not to win the Scudetto. I heard president Scaroni talking about the budget accounting for the top four. Well, in terms of cheering I would not accept it,” he said (via MilanNews).

“You have lost the break advantage, but we have already said it 8 times in this season. Let’s face it that it is all in the hands of Inter, because every time we say it of any team it brings bad luck. At the moment Milan are able not to beat anyone.”
