Pellegatti states that Milan are repeating last year’s events: “Fans have never given up”

The sporting director situation is the dictator of AC Milan right now, and Carlo Pellegatti has offered his view on the candidates and the process.

At present, Milan are at a bit of a standstill, simply because no decisions will be made until the new sporting director arrives. Once a candidate is chosen, it seems like several decisions will be made in a short space of time.

From the head coach’s future to renewals, several tasks are waiting for the successful candidate, and with an appointment expected before the middle of April, there is certainly a ticking on the clock, especially considering how close we are to the summer mercato after that.

That does not mean the process can be rushed though, as doing that will only have a negative effect on the picture. After all, this is, hopefully, a long-term decision.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pellegatti offered his opinion on the new sporting director situation, and Pianeta Milan have relayed his words.

“It transpires from Milan that the club will not choose the sporting director by the end of April, that is the new deadline. What is behind this decision? I don’t know, but I can imagine: in my opinion, Milan will behave as they did with Pioli last season.”

What is Conceicao’s future?

“Milan want to wait for this decisive month for Conceicao: if he manages to win a European place, the Coppa Italia. Only after this month of April will the decision be taken, from what I know the decision on the new coach has not yet been made. One waits until the end of April.

“The fans have never given up on Conceicao, there has always been esteem. If he manages to get out of this heavy position, he might have a chance next season from the start, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

  1. Looks like Juventus is on the verge of firing Motta.
Another stupid decision by idiotic management.
What did they expect from Motta? To come and win the treble?
First season at a big club, with half of a squad of new players, most of them he didn’t pick. Pre season without most of his better players because of international tournaments. The best player gets injured a month into the season.
Carlo Ancelotti was fired by Juventus, and he goes to be arguably the best coach in Europe in the next 3 decades.
Gasperini gets fired by inter couple months into his 1st season, but now everyone wants to glaze him and push him to a big club.
Patience is needed with a young coach. There is only 1 Guardiola.

    1. They spent 200M€ to get him players he wanted. Big clubs don’t give you 3 season to get your gameplay in place in the club. You can do this at Como and Verona, or Bologna. Not at Milan or Juventus. Marco Giampaolo had much worse players at Sampdoria compared to Motta’s Bologna. And when he came to Milan – 0. Motta has good ideas, but ideas are nothing if you can’t make it happen.

  2. The fact that there’s a clear discomfort between players and Conceiçao is the reason to separate at the end of the season. We also need to take into consideration there will be a new SD and they just might not be compatible. Do we want more sh*thousery and confusion coming next season? With new SD, a new clean slate with clear project in mind should come. But one can only hope…

    1. I would rather get rid of those players, don’t care which ones. It is time to get rid of all the pus*ies that create issues in the team.

      1. So Reijnders, Puli and Fofana? You would get rid of them along with Mike, Theo and Leao? Might as well join first team and Futuro in Serie C. Musah can be the captain and Felix our highest paid star.

  3. Interview at Coimbra Football Congress 2025, Sergio Conceiçao released these words: “I didn’t choose the team and I didn’t have time to coach”.

He knew what he was getting into when agreeing to take over in the middle of the season. And these Conte esque excuses are just pilling up with him. It’s a clear to me that separation would be for the best at the end of the season.
