Alexis Saelemaekers completed his season-long loan to AS Roma last night, with Tammy Abraham going the other way, and the winger published a message on his Instagram. By the looks of it, he doesn’t have his heart set on a permanent move yet.
Saelemaekers spent last season on loan at Bologna and after impressing Paulo Fonseca this summer, it looked like he would stay. However, with issues in the No.9 role, Milan decided to negotiate a swap deal with Roma to get Abraham on a season-long loan.
The moves were completed last night, as well as announced, and Saelemaekers published a message on his Instagram page. It sounds like he doesn’t have his heart set on a permanent move just yet, but it remains to be seen what will happen next summer.
“Even if only for a short time, I felt at home as always. See you soon ❤️🖤,” he wrote.
In the meantime, Abraham has reportedly been called up for tonight’s game between Milan and Roma, with a debut potentially on the cards.
