Pioli avoids discussing the whistles against Kessie: “He’s focused and motivated”

Franck Kessie didn’t exactly receive a warm welcome for AC Milan’s game against Bologna on Monday evening, booed and whistled when he entered the pitch. A matter that the player and Stefano Pioli aren’t focused on.

The midfielder’s contract with the Rossoneri will expire at the end of the season and he has decided to leave the club. A subsequent move to Barcelona has more or less been confirmed by the parties and that’s why the fans aren’t too happy with him.

His name was booed when the stadium announcer read it before the Bologna game and Kessie received some more of that treatment when he came on in the second half. He didn’t seem too fazed, however.

When asked about the matter during his press conference earlier today, Pioli quickly diverted from the whistles and just mentioned that Kessie is focused on what is a very important season finale for Milan. The right approach by the manager, one could argue.

“Kessie is focused and motivated. I haven’t talked to him but we’re all focused on the next games.”
