GdS: Pioli puts Berardi’s name forward as a target with Milan hoping for €15-20m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are seriously thinking about signing Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi ahead of the 2022-23 season, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) reports that the Rossoneri are giving serious thought to a concrete pursuit of Berardi in view of next season because Samu Castillejo is already on the way out and an upgrade on the right is needed.

Given that Berardi is having another fantastic season with 14 goals and 11 assists in 27 league games, it is no surprise that the asking price Sassuolo have currently set is €30m. Stefano Pioli put him on his wish list last season but Junior Messias arrived from Crotone, and he has not yet convinced.

The Milan management are hoping that they could get a deal done for around €15-20m but there are Premier League teams interested. Nonetheless, the Rossoneri know very well how to manage financial resources and if Berardi does not arrive then a winger of ‘excellent calibre’ will.
