Tuttosport: Pioli has a decision to make as Tomori is eager to return against Lazio

By Oliver Fisher -

Fikayo Tomori wasn’t quite able to make the derby win over Inter on Saturday but he could return tomorrow night against Lazio, a report claims.

As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), head coach Stefano Pioli will decide today whether to field Tomori from the start in the quarter-final game tomorrow night at San Siro. The English defender is fine and his condition is constantly improving, so much so that he would have actually been able to come off the bench in the derby if needed.

Pioli could therefore be able to rely upon Tomori to partner Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of the defence, with Pierre Kalulu on the bench to get some much-needed rest after an intense run of games played at his less natural centre-back position.

Tomori has a great desire to return to the field and close the cycle, since it was the last cup round – the 3-1 extra-time win over Genoa – during which he was forced off with a knee problem.
