AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has one big selection doubt ahead of Sunday’s game against Juventus at San Siro, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Pioli has not yet decided who he will field at the attacking midfielder for the crucial game against the Bianconeri. Brahim Diaz has been selected in recent weeks despite his struggles, but it might be the time for Rade Krunic to occupy that role.
In view of Sunday’s match, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud are once again in a battle to start as the centre-forward and the paper goes on to state that the Swedish centre-forward is ahead of the Frenchman at the moment, despite the fact he hasn’t scored a goal at home since the 2-0 win over Lazio back in September.
Ibra was kept out by Spezia in Monday night’s dramatic defeat while Olivier Giroud scored last week against Genoa in the cup at San Siro, but it seems the 40-year-old is still preferred for the biggest games.

Im actually keen on seeing Pioli playing both Ibra and Giroud. But instead of just hammering long balls into the box, let Ibra drop deep and set up play, with Giroud spearheading. Ibras finishing has been subpar all season, but he is still great dropping deep – with Giroud up front the usual problem when Ibra does this (no presence in the box) is mitigated by Giroud up ahead. In defence, start press from mid pitch and just let them man mark Bonucci and one other central defender.
Giroud has started in five home matches. Five victories, six goals. He has done nothing as a substitute. So, start him. A no brainer.
