AC Milan are in the market to sign a new right winger in the summer and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi remains an option, a report claims.
Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers have each failed to seize the right wing spot, as the Brazilian has scored 6 goals across all competitions this season while the Belgian has netted 2 goals but has added 3 assists. It must be said that these are uninspiring numbers that are making the club think ahead of next season and the summer window.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri will be looking for a right winger on the summer market who can ensure a certain number of goals and assists and while the idea of signing Riyad Mahrez has cooled, there remains alternative options.
Berardi is an option that remains alive, as the Sassuolo star has 14 goals and 13 assists in 30 Serie A games for the Neroverdi this season – his third straight campaign with double digits in league goals – and Stefano Pioli is a big fan of the player.

Sure Berardi has impressive stats and I do like him but I am not quite sure he would have the same stats in a champions league team. First off, we’re going to play champions league and we aim to make it through group stage so getting a player who has zero champions league games and virtually no experience in european competitions being almost 28 years old, I don’t know if that’s the best idea. Also the way Sassuolo plays makes it easier for offensive and creative players to shine because they play in a style that’s very flashy but also unbalanced, defence is almost unexistent, that’s why they never trascend despite having interesting players, a Champions League team can’t play like that and demands some tactical versatility that I don’t know if Berardi can give. Also, tbh, looking into players that looked very good in Sassuolo and then left for other teams, I’m struggling to come by one player that kept the same level of performance they had in Sassuolo in their new squad. Maybe due to Sassuolo’s playing style. Locatelli could be the closest to that, and even he’s had a mixed bag of a season. What happened to Politano, Sensi, even Boga disappointed at Atalanta. Caputo despite being a veteran player, scored a lot in Sassuolo and what happened to him…
I hope Napoli or other team serie A buy him from sassoulo , so this rumour stop coming to AC Milan .Sassoulo mart always over price and almost all player that moving from sassoulo are strugle in new club’ . Sassoulo asking price 30-35m euro for Berardi already nonsense. Better find another gem with that money
