Sky: Pioli tempted to swap his starting centre-forward against Cagliari

There may finally be a chance for Olivier Giroud to get some rest as Zlatan Ibrahimovic may start this weekend against Cagliari, a report claims.

According to Sky (via ACMilanFR), head coach Stefano Pioli is strongly thinking about playing Ibrahimovic from the first minute when Milan make the trip to the island of Sardinia to face Cagliari on Saturday night, hoping to keep their spot atop the table.

Giroud has started every game for Milan since the Swede limped off in the first half of the 0-0 draw against Juventus in January, and there is an interesting stat regarding how each of them fair at San Siro versus games away from home.

Of the 8 goals scored in the league by Ibra so far in 2021-22, 7 of these were scored away from home. His only home goal this season dates back to the beginning of the campaign when Milan beat Lazio 2-0 and the No.11 scored as a substitute.

Meanwhile, his French strike partner has scored all but one of his goals at San Siro, with his only goal away from La Scala del Calcio being in the 1-0 win over Napoli.
