As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Milan boss is desperate to arrest the recent poor run of form and a change of shape could be what does it.
Milan were completely overrun in the midfield by Inter during the Supercoppa Italiana final in midweek which ended 3-0 to the Nerazzurri.
There may be fears that it could happen again against Lazio if Pioli names the same midfield two of Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali. By putting Pobega in the middle as well, it may allow Milan to assert more control over the tempo of the game and be less susceptible to the counter-attack.
The match at the Stadio Olimpico takes place on Tuesday night and will be crucial to Milan’s attempts to catch Napoli.
