Pioli refuses to rule out signing an Ibrahimovic deputy: “If there is a possibility…”

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured again, Stefano Pioli will have to rely on Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao for a bit longer than expected. Starting with the game tomorrow, the duo will have to start delivering goal-wise.

The Rossoneri have scored eight goals since the Swede got injured, averaging two goals per game, yet Samu Castillejo is the only attacker that has scored. A positive sign, in one aspect, but the defenders can’t keep bailing Milan out.

During today’s press conference, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli was asked about Ibrahimovic’s injury and if there are any plans to sign a deputy in January. He didn’t rule it out, more so hinting that it will happen.

“If we need a deputy Ibra? If there is a possibility to improve the team, we will do it. It will depend on the opportunities that arise,” he stated.

Tomorrow’s game is scheduled at 15:00 CET and will take place at Mapei Stadium. Although Milan’s mentality is still going strong, as showcased in the last few games, they need a win to get out of this negative mini-moment.
