AC Milan suffered their second away defeat in less than a week at the hands of Bologna, and now they are resigned to life without Champions League football.
Milan’s already slim hopes of making the top four were dealt perhaps a decisive blow as they lost 2-1 against Bologna. The Rossoneri led at half-time through Rafael Leao’s goal, but Santiago Casto and Dan Ndoye completed the comeback for the home side.
It means that Milan are now eight points behind Juventus in fourth place and now also three points behind their hosts Bologna, with any hopes of a top four place now surely over bar the shouting.
Player ratings from the Italian papers
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has their ratings from the game, starting with the overall performance and Sergio Conceicao’s management, both of which earned a score of 4.5 out of 10. It has rarely been lower this season, despite such a troubled campaign.
Yunus Musah was the highest rated as he got a 6.5 for his tireless endeavour, while Strahinja Pavlovic was named as the worst player as he was responsible for losing Ndoye for the winning goal.
Joao Felix and Alex Jimenez struggled too, getting a 4.5, while Malick Thiaw, Theo Hernandez, Tijjani Reijnders, Santiago Gimenez and the substitute Christian Pulisic were given a 5.
Youssouf Fofana and Luka Jovic got a 5.5, with only Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao getting a passing grade of 6.
Corriere dello Sport meanwhile named Jimenez the flop (4.5), and praised Musah (7) for his work rate, plus Leao (6.5) for taking the one chance that came his way.
Thiaw, Theo Hernandez, Joao Felix and Gimenez struggled (5), then Pavlovic, Fofana, Pulisic and Reijnders got half a mark more.
Season over nothing to be sad about anymore,I tune in at half time to watch yesterday match.pls who ever is in charge of this squatting department should resign and go he is a failure
“praised Musah (7) for his work rate”
Any credibility of that journalist or media went down the drain. Musah? 7???!!!!! FFS…
I can give his potential 7 but his performance on the pitch yesterday was 3. He achieved nothing. His “headless chicken” imitation is the best I’ve seen this season. People ridiculed Saelemaekers for that but Musah is 100x worse.
I mean you just have to compare Pavlovic ratings here and anywhere else. If you never watched him and just read player ratings on Sempre Milan you’d think he is Nesta in the body of Stam.
Not intended as a reply, lol. Sorry
