PM: Cutrone linked with shock return to Milan – the truth regarding the rumours

By Oliver Fisher -

There is nothing in the rumours that Patrick Cutrone could make a sensational loan return to AC Milan, according to a report.

PianetaMilan writes how it is well-known that Milan are looking for at least two strikers on the transfer market and in the last few hours there has been some talk that Cutrone could come back, having left in the summer of 2019 to join Wolves.

The 23-year-old has had loan spells at Fiorentina and most recently Valencia but has struggled to find form since he left San Siro, failing to score in 7 appearances for the Spanish club, with a potential move back to his comfort zone in Milan one that could benefit his career.

The report claims though that there is nothing true in the rumours because Cutrone at the moment is not a profile that interests Milan. It is more likely that Milan focus on a young profile who can grow slowly in the 2021-22 season and then launch over the next few years.

    1. Indeed. He gave 100% in every game, every minute. I bet he would have agreed to play with 100k€/year for the love of the team – unlike certain young goalie…

    2. It is a mistake to sell Patrick Cutrone and then then paid almost 30M to bring in Leao.

Though Leao is much more talented than Cutrone, but his performance is not better than Cutrone:
      Leao:
      – 20/21, 7 goals, 6 assists with 2,502 playing minutes in all competitions;

      – 19/20, 6 goals, 3 assists with 1,475 playing minutes.

      Cutrone:
      – 18/19, 9 goals, 2 assists with 1910 playing minutes; (The arriaval of Higuain and Piatek hugely reduced his playing time and opportunity to start).

      – 17/18 , 18 goals, 6 assists with 2,681 playing minutes.

Cutrone’s current abysmal goal statistics is mainly due his status as a loanee to two different team that did/do not give much trust and playing opportunities for him.

I’d welcome him back as a third striker under Ibra .

      1. There is nothing special about any of them. Wake up. Leo show glimpse here and there but too inconstant, I won’t be surprised if he ends up like Patrick. Silva went on loan and grabbed his opportunity, some player just don’t have what it takes, quit dreaming.

  1. It would be the biggest embarrassment in the history of the club and football, but it is Milan and it breaks records in bringing garbage

    1. If we brought him back on loan with option how is that anywhere near a bad thing?? We should still go for a primary striker but why not have him as a 3rd option.

  2. Why buy a player nobody wants. He doesn’t score. Why bring him back.
Zlatan is done. We need some one that kan fill his place.

  3. Reading these rumors makes me think that i am supporting a club that is staying afloat based on his pass success and not doing much to catch up with the current era. Can’t sign one quality player unless they’re old or nobody wants. Yes signing young is great in other to stay on top you need quality and management isn’t doing that. Until midway to the season like they have been doing for the past 2 season. No concrete plan for the season as a whole during summer transfer pathetic.

    1. Agreed, pathetic club going forward. Trusting Pioli to take us to the next level… only choosing 18 year olds for transfers… no real investment in quality… we made amazing moves to get this level but value can only take you so far, we need ready quality now.

  4. I think the management are trying their best to provide Pioli with a good squad. The biggest problem is FFP which w are still in their 3 yrs after w were found guilty in 2019

    1. There are better option management not trying to hard enough. Kramaric for instance Boating fro Bayern became a free agent, would be a good addition in defense but they would rather take chances on young players which is a hit or miss.
