Polish journalist provides update on Milan’s pursuit of Arsenal defender

Polish journalist Maciej Siemiatkowski has suggested that AC Milan target Jakub Kiwior is going to be staying at Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Speaking during an interview with TV Play (via Pianeta Milan), Siemiatkowski explained that he does not expect to see Kiwior leave Arsenal so soon after his arrival given the time it can take many players to adapt to life in the United Kingdom.

“I think Kiwior will stay at Arsenal. His valuation is around €25 million but I think he can also be sold for €15-20m. He is currently at a big English club so we also need to understand his intentions. Honestly, it seems strange to me that he could leave Arsenal in the next transfer window because he has been there for a year and is continuing his process of adaptation to English football,” Siemiatkowski said.

Milan have been linked with Kiwior for a long time and that has only intensified after a number of Rossoneri defenders picked up injuries.

With Malick Thiaw being the latest to get a serious injury, Fikayo Tomori is the only consistently fit central defender in the senior team, with Simon Kjaer in and out of the treatment room.

It seems logical that Arsenal could let Kiwior leave on a loan deal in January given he so infrequently features under Mikel Arteta, but they will likely demand a fee at the end of the loan.

    1. The player is probably pushing to leave so he can play regularly before Poland NT play off for the Euro and then be ready for the Euro.
