President admits Milan-linked duo could leave RC Lens: “There’s not much we can do”

AC Milan have been linked with two RC Lens players over the last few days and now the president of the French club has admitted both could leave.

Last night’s win against Ajaccio means that RC Lens are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2002-03, when they met Milan who were then champions of Serie A.

There was an hour of celebration post-match, fireworks to accompany the Champions League anthem blaring and a miner’s lamp given to each player, because this has been and remains an area famous for its mining.

At the end of the party there will be some questions to answer about the future of the club, including its star players. As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, Milan have set their sights on Lois Openda who scored 20 league goals and midfielder Seko Fofana too.

Joseph Marie Oughourlian – the president of the Ligue 1 club – made an admission after the game that both might end up leaving.

“If a big club comes in for one of our players, we will talk to the staff and we will be prepared. We don’t always have control over those things. If the big teams come for our players or staff members, there’s not much we can do,” he said.
