Aston Villa are eyeing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but AC Milan do not seem to have any intentions of letting him go mid-season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirm Villa’s interest in signing Loftus-Cheek this January. However, Milan’s stance is clear: the midfielder isn’t on the list of players to be sold unless a particularly lucrative offer arrives. That hasn’t happened so far.

In all of this, it’s important to remember how valuable Massimiliano Allegri considers the Englishman. So far this season he has showed that he can play at least three positions, having been used as a midfielder, a second striker and even as a wing-back.
The counter-move
It’s no coincidence that Milan have begun contract negotiations in recent months. The current one ties Loftus-Cheek to the Rossoneri until June 2027, with a net salary of approximately €4m per season.
The Englishman hasn’t impressed to the level his salary suggests, but thanks also to the benefits of the Growth Decree, his wages deemed sustainable overall. If anything, doubts may be tied to the contract’s duration, and his age given that RLC turns 30 tomorrow.
An offer of €15m for a permanent transfer could turn Milan’s head. This would likely be the last chance to cash in on the Englishman’s departure. Moreover, in the year of the World Cup, the player might also be tempted to return to his homeland to try and secure a spot in the national team.
All of this is theoretical, given that the management are yet to receive an offer that would shake their belief in keeping Loftus-Cheek. Should that happen, the Rossoneri would then have to find a suitable replacement too, though the money could also be used on a defender.

The squad is too thin…we dont have the luxury of letting a utility player go. God forbids if we have an injury in our already fragile attack. Unless there is a useful replacement it say we consider selling him in the summer.
It is thin, if we were fighting multiple fronts. This year, from here on, we have 16 more games, once a week. Do you not think Modric, Rabiot, Fofana, Ricci and Jashari can handle it? On attack we have Rafa, Puli, Fulkrug, Nkunku and a soon to come back Santi. I know some of them havent performed, but neither has RLC. We are more thin on the Wings and the defense. Saladman is the only starter on one side and thank godness for Barthesagi. I actually believe RLC can indeed leave and will not impact us much.
Remember when Pavlovic and Gabbia were down, and we had to use Bartesaghi as a CB next to De Winter and Tomori? It went OK, but what if they’d had to do it for multiple games? Now they’re looking for a CB. Why are they looking for a CB if five players for three CB spots is enough? Now apply the same logic to midfield, where there are three spots and currently six players. There will only be five if we sell RLC now, and one of them is 40 years old. Selling RLC now is nonsense. If they want to move him on wait until the summer. Bring in another CB if the right one is found at the right price and shutdown the January transfer market and focus on the renewals like Mike’s and Pulisic’s.
not the same with midfield considering we have jashari modric ricci rabiot fofana and 3 midfielderes on loan. all of them can do a better job in midfield than useless rlc.i liked him and now my hopes are gone
So, you’re saying that in the event of an injury crisis after the transfer window closes, that one those 3 midfielders on loan would somehow be able to come back to return to the club?
Even some of our academy players can play better than he does. Useless player needs be sold now or else become a burden toll his contract runs out

He’s not getting any younger, better or more resilient to injuries. He’s not getting back to the 10-goals-per-season fluke he had. He can’t even play one good match per season anymore. Time to let go and let the players with potential give it a go. They can’t do worse than him.
Sell if a 10M offer comes in, but I won’t sweat it if he doesn’t get sold. I also would be fine if he isn’t sold in the summer and left on a free next year. I hope they don’t extend him 😬
