Sky: Recovery time unknown – Milan’s fears confirmed as Pulisic injury seems ‘rather serious’

AC Milan have been dealt some terrible news this afternoon, with it seeming likely that Christian Pulisic’s injury is not a small one.

With Pulisic suffering from an ankle problem this week, it would have made sense if he had been rested for a friendly against Australia yesterday. However, despite the situation not looking fantastic in the lead-up to the game, he was selected to start.

This has proven costly, though, with the winger being taken off after only 30 minutes of the game played.

Terrible news for Pulisic

Immediately after the game, it did not seem good, with a teammate suggesting that the winger had to be consoled, with a ‘recovery process’ likely. Whilst Mauricio Pochettino also stated that it seemed like a hamstring injury.

Whilst no prognosis has been delivered just yet, the American will seemingly be out for a decent period, as Manuele Baiocchini told Sky Sport, via MilanZone.

For Pulisic, it seems like a rather serious issue; recovery times will be known after the tests.”

Not what anyone needed…

  1. And USA wanted to crucify him for declining call up in August. Now they’ve injured our player, I guess they are satisfied.

      1. I watched the match. It seems that it was his ankle that got rolled on by the opposing player. Reckless tackle by the player in a friendly. He has a target on his back every time he plays for the U.S. should not have been playing in this friendly but he took so much stuff from the media for resting during the summer.

  2. Over a stupid useless friendly. He was already nursing an ankle injury and didn’t need to play. This is poor player management from the USMNT staff and coach.

      1. They have such useless players in the US setup even an injured puli is 3x times better than anyone else they have so he it was decided by a poor manager (let’s be honest besides spurs Potts spectacularly failed at Chelsea and so far with the US) so I’m not surprised he injured again

      1. Times up. It will have been 3 weeks since Leao returned against Napoli, and Nkunku should be ready to go as he didn’t have any injuries. Only one way to get match fit and that’s to play.

    1. Nkunku for sure, as he is the most natural replacement for Puli, being a support type player able to play next to Gimenez. Leao can come off the bench as an “impact” sub, although I’m skeptical.

      1. Nkunku for sure? LOL, what? The invisible man against Juventus? You are skeptical about Leao but not about Nkunku that was the most useless player on the field against Juventus? Incredible what some of you people can write.

  3. I think our players too need to play with their senses.. Why did he take the friendly match so serious when he knows what it’s at stake for Milan. IMO, it’s a senseless injury.

  4. I guess the only positive is the next two games are winnable without him but if he misses more time then Milan is in trouble. Hopefully he will recover quickly.

  5. I think if the national team fixtures are not necessary for qualification, clubs should have the right not to send their players. It’s asinine paying millions of dollars a year for a player to go off and get hurt for literally nothing.

    1. Yes, there are some issues with that but if the player has any injury, even a small one, it should be like that. Also, most players wouldn’t agree with not going, so that is another issue. Modric would leave Milan in January if he wasn’t allowed.
