Tuttosport: Pulisic seeking redemption at San Siro after 82 day goalscoring drought

Christian Pulisic’s 2026 has not been positive so far, and that fact has been well documented. Indeed, AC Milan need the star to start performing more!

It has been a troubling start to the year for Pulisic, who has struggled with injury throughout the season. However, his performances cannot be excused too much; he is below the standard expected of him.

Since the game against Hellas Verona, the American has not found the back of the net, as MilanPress relays from Tuttosport, meaning he is now 82 days without the glory of a goal.

Pulisic’s turnaround

It is unusual for Pulisic to be struggling so much. Across his time at San Siro, he has never faced these issues. So, questions need to be asked of the cause, nothing needs to be said about the effect, the form this year speaks for itself.

This weekend, then, against Torino, he will aim to get back on the scoresheet, hopefully with a trademark performance. Against Torino earlier in the season, he was superb, and it was one of his finest showings.

Perhaps it is as simple as him rolling back the tapes, and re-finding the form, hopefully against the victim of one of his best performances this season. One thing is known, a turnaround is needed soon.

  1. Please Christian, do seek redemption but not at all costs. If you have an open companion with an empty net ahead of him for an easy tap-in, do pass. Don’t be too greedy to score in order to take the monkey off your back. Scoring is nice but assisting for a score is just as nice and wins games just as well. Forza Christian. You will overcome your bad phase; just be calm about it and good things will happen.

    1. You are more insightful than this. No one ever talked about him not passing before your pal leao acted like a 2 yr old. The irony is that CP is the polar opposite of leao. Its plain to see and I am pretty sure you know it. Not sure why you feel the need to post such rubbish

  2. Not his fault he has been playing
    a) out of position
    b) injured AND
    c) with someone who isn’t a #9.

The blame-game (and excuses) works both ways. Even if he scored a hattrick tomorrow, the haters will still hate.

    1. The haters hate Pulisic exclusively because he is American. That’s beyond stupid. Sure, he’s been having a bad phase in 2026 but his history of contributions to AC Milan since he joined and up to December of 2025, can’t be denied.

His bad phase will end and he will resume his outstanding contributions to Milan. Unless people aggravate him so much that he decides to leave. I hope he stays and renews his contract (I do realize that if we don’t make the UCL again, it is unlikely that Puli – and others – will renew). He is a great player with high football IQ, and is a hardworker.

Also, it is very stupid to hate on him because he is American. I bet that most of my fellow Italians who hate him for this reason (the hatred for the American owner spill over poor Pulisic) don’t realize that Pulisic has Italian blood. His maternal grandmother was Sicilian. He has an Italian flag tattooed on his arm, to pay tribute to his grandmother. His percentage of Italian blood is exactly the same as his percentage of Croatian blood (paternal grandfather was Croatian; Puli has 25% of Croatian blood, 25% of Italian blood, and 50% of shorter-term American blood – although all White Americans ultimately came from somewhere else in Europe). So Puli is half European from recent ancestry (more, from more remote ancestry) and he is 25% Italian. He loves Italy and is trying hard to learn the language. There is no reason whatsoever to hate him because of his nationality.

Hey, there is no reason to hate ANYONE because of that person’s nationality. This is for small, xenophobic minds.

Instead of nationality, let’s focus on footballing skills. Christian has plenty of those, regardless of his current bad phase (which happens even to great players).

      1. “Hey, there is no reason to hate ANYONE because of that person’s nationality.”

I don’t think there’s a reason to hate anyone in the club people support. I mean, I hate Barca, I hate Inter and some of their players but one of our own? Never.

    2. a, Pulisic doesn’t play out of position,
but b and c are true.
He plays in the same position he played at the beginning of the season when he was the top scorer in the league.

  3. Leao co firmed injured. This is an opportunity for Pulisic to play with a #9 vs Torino. Hopefully he can provide assist maybe a goal!
