Sky Germany: RB Leipzig ‘confident’ of landing French talent despite Milan offer

AC Milan are not unfamiliar with the French market, but they are not always successful in their pursuits of talent from the country, and the latest showing of this has taken place.

It is not a strange thing at this point for Milan to be linked with talent from France, especially if the player in question is a younger talent, available under parameters which match the RedBird ideologies.

So, when talented 18-year-old Tidiam Gomis hit the market, the Rossoneri’s interest was expected, and it arrived shortly after. Available on a free and with an exciting profile, it seemed like a Geoffrey Moncada move, certainly.

However, it seems that the young winger is moving to Germany, despite the efforts of Milan. According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, RB Leipzig are ‘confident’ of wrapping up a deal for the SM Caen starlet and believe that they will wrap up a deal in the summer at the latest.

The Journalist states that the Rossoneri had sent a ‘concrete, long-term’ offer to the winger but it seems that he may be opting for a move elsewhere. Considering he was available for free, it is certainly a move with little downside, especially considering he has many years of development still to go.

  1. Shocking, and actual promising player doesn’t want to come to a club currently run by incompetent clowns with no plan…Leipzig have a proven track record and will easily offer ucl football next year. Moncada can’t even offer him playing time, much less success…

  2. Hmmmm…..going with Leipzig and Klopp and the tremendous success they have developing talent OR come to the dumpster fire club that is currently lead by a cheap owner and clueless management team?

    Is there even a choice?

  3. Just terminate Moncada’s contract too in “mutual agreement” and get someone who actually is qualified to do his job. For every Theo, there’s dozen origis, ballo-toures and emersons. We’ve had enough. Also, his “French connections” aren’t worth sh1t. Remember Thuram? Or both Thurams actually.
