Giornale: Rebic suffering with a small hernia – he has missed 46 matches since joining

Stefano Pioli is unable to call upon Ante Rebic yet again at the moment as he battles yet another injury problem, continuing a frustrating trend.

After scoring two goals in the first game of the season against Udinese at San Siro, Rebic’s campaign seems to have returned to the same theme as last season. According to Il Giornale (via SempreMilan.it), he Croatian striker is currently out due to a slipped disc that has forced him to jump the last few games.

The word from Milanello is that it is a small hernia that he is suffering from, but as those who have suffered from any kind of hernia will know, it is too painful for him to train as normal and rest is needed to help it go away otherwise it can worsen the issue and lead to surgery.

Since arriving at Milanello in the summer of 2019, Rebic has missed 46 matches out of 148 which is 31%. Once he is back to full fitness – which Pioli will hope happens soon – the hope will be that he can put the recent trend behind him.
