Relevo: Milan have option to buy Real Madrid defender for €5m – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are happy with what they have seen so far from defender Alex Jimenez and they do have the option to sign him permanently, it is claimed.

Jimenez arrived from Real Madrid to join the Primavera side on an initial loan deal, and the signing of the youngster was praised by many experts this summer. The Athletic even labelled him as ‘one of Real Madrid’s top talents’, and he seems to have settled well.

We published an analysis on the 18-year-old a few days ago highlighting what makes him such an exciting prospect, and now some more information on the deal itself has emerged.

Relevo are reporting that Milan have a buy option in the loan they agreed with Real Madrid, which is €5m, but then Los Blancos would have a buy-back clause included in the subsequent deal.

Obviously a lot will depend on how the next few months go and how the player feels too. The teenager has played seven matches so far across all competitions, with four being starts.

  1. Please if there is buyback option, don’t let it become obligation, as if we obliged to sell him back if Madrid gave the money.

Make it less disadvantageous for us, like
    1. Make it option to buy if we want to sell, or
    2. Make it a big number, at least 5 times the buyout (so 25m), and
    3. Make it so that the buyback can only activated in certain period, like the first week of July 2024/2025…

We are not a feeder club, we shouldn’t get treated by Madrid like how we treated Lecce… 🙄
