Ralf Rangnick has the idea of bringing in RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann for the second year of his Milan project, a report claims.
So far there has always been talk of the double role that Rangnick would play, and we reported via our correspondent Vito Angele last week that Rangnick will indeed agree a role as manager – that is the double responsibility of head coach and the man in charge of the transfer market.
Rumours did emerge earlier in the month though suggesting that Rangnick could decide just to control the market and try entrust Julian Nagelsmann with head coaching duties.
According to what was reported by Radio Rossonera journalist Pietro Balzano Prota on his latest Twitch stream (via @SightsMilan on Twitter), there is a plan regarding that hypothesis.
Rangnick wants to have total control of the project for the first year, coming in as both a director and as the head coach. However, he added that for the second year the 61-year-old has the idea of trying to bring Nagelsmann to Italy.
Prota even claims there has been ‘a brief preliminary chat ‘about the possibility however these have now been postponed until after next season as it all depends on how the next season goes. Nagelsmann will stay at Leipzig next year.
On the Rangnick front, there will be a meeting soon between the German, CEO Ivan Gazidis and Elliott Management representative Gordon Singer.
