AC Milan are closing in on a deal to sign Renato Sanches from Lille as the final details are being resolved, according to a report.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Milan have had their eyes on two Lille players – namely defender Sven Botman and midfielder Renato Sanches – for months now, and the latter is currently the closest to joining having been picked as the perfect replacement for Franck Kessie.
The Rossoneri management tried to sign Renato Sanches in January but an agreement with the player over personal terms was not found. However, these issues seem to have been solved, so much so that only the final details between the directors and Sanches’ agent Jorge Mendes are missing.
In January the demand from Lille was €25m but given he has only a year left on his deal, the Portuguese midfielder can leave for a figure of around €20m. Divock Origi will be the first to arrive and should have medical examinations in mid-June, then it will be Sanches’ turn.
Wow! I see how this news about Sanches is being masticated, ingested and finally regurgitated ad nauseam for the readers. Like an asymptote, we keep approaching but never really reaching the end of this deal. In the end, Bakayoko’s loan will be extended by one more season and Sanches goes to…
The media is just having financial fun dwelling on the sanches angle
If I had a dollar for every Renato Sanches close to Milan piece I’ve seen in the last 30 days I would be a very, very rich man.
The absolute will power it must take to write the same thing over and over again daily is incredible. Just in different words. And then laugh when it doesn’t become true like Zaccagni, Thauvin and James Rodriguez
