AC Milan have made Renato Sanches their number one target to arrive and reinforce the midfield, and it seems a deal is getting closer.
Calciomercato.com report that signing the Portuguese midfielder from Lille has been a top priority over the past few months as the management believe he is the perfect replacement for Franck Kessie.
After the attempt to sign Sanches in the January window which vanished at the final stages, new contacts with agent Jorge Mendes have led to a meeting point over a four-year contract at €4.5m net per season, with a new discussion expected in the coming days.
Milan and Lille will have no problems in defining the transfer fee given €20m was already agreed back in January, and now there is room for a discount considering that Renato Sanches has a contract expiring in 2023 and there is no chance of a renewal.
The report adds that the upcoming days are ‘important’ and ‘perhaps decisive’, with Renato Sanches getting closer and closer to joining.
