Tuttosport: Arsenal, Atletico and Juventus want Renato Sanches – why Milan are on pole

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will not have an easy path to signing Renato Sanches from Lille as they face competition from a rival and clubs abroad, a report claims.

As reported by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), Sanches is the top target for Milan as they look to reinforce the midfield ahead of next season. The Portuguese midfielder was already chosen last winter by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to replace Franck Kessié once the negotiations with the Ivorian hit a wall.

However, a number of other clubs want the 24-year-old Portugal international too as he is being followed closely also by Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, who have already knocked on the door of his agent Jorge Mendes.

The fact his contract expires in 2023 and also the notion that the Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have good relations with Lille mean that Milan are currently on pole to land him. The positive intercession of Elliott is helping in the Sanches pursuit, therefore.

He has made 24 appearances in all competitions with Lille this season, scoring only once but also providing 5 assists.
