CM: A ‘promise’ to Milan and Juve’s inclusion – the latest on Renato Sanches

By Oliver Fisher -

Renato Sanches has a verbal pact with AC Milan but there is now a rush to close a deal given Juventus have entered the race, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Sanches could have joined Milan in the last few days of the winter transfer window as the Rossoneri made a concrete attempt to bring him to Milanello as early as January, but the deal faded as Lille preferred to postpone the operation until next summer.

The Portuguese international has already ‘promised himself’ to Milan, but this must now be turned into a concrete agreement to avoid other clubs coming in to hijack. To that effect, Juventus have entered the race to sign him as they want to overhaul their midfield department.

That is why the battle is open but the Diavolo remain in pole position to land the 24-year-old at the moment, though as mentioned there must come a point where everything is agreed, or he will end up elsewhere.

  1. Please GOD may this transfer plan never work. We don’t need him and at €25m he’s too pricey. We can Frattesi for far less than that plus we have Pobega. How is it that other clubs appreciate him and not us? Then there is Kamara, whom we can get for free and as such spend this €25m on other departments that have more pressing needs. We lie to ourselves that we need Renato to replace Kessie, but the truth is the team has done well without Kessie this season this far. Renato flopped at Bayern, how are to know for sure he will not flop at Milan? Whether he does or doesn’t, €25m/€20m is too much of a gamble. We need a very offensive midfielder, so offensive that the defensive midfielders will have less work to do defensively.

  2. Renato are good box to box midfield , 20m euro are fair price consider his contract duration only 1 years left. Kamara free but he is more to CB and very defensive if put on double pivot, while we need box to box player that can Linked back and front

  3. We should have tied this deal up in January and left him at Lille until the end of the season, I see another club jumping in and stealing him from under our noses now, same with botman. Missed opportunity this one.
