GFFN: Renato Sanches stuck in difficult triangle amid bids from Milan and PSG – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

The rather bizarre triangle involved Renato Sanches and his future seems to be showing no signs of breaking any time soon, a report claims.

According to GFFN, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing Renato Sanches and they have had an agreement in principle over personal terms in place since last month with the Portugal international, who would reunite with Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos who were the head coach and sporting director respectively at Lille for their 2020-21 Ligue 1 triumph.

PSG are pushing for a season-long loan with obligation to buy that would require a contract extension with Lille to be completed first given his current deal expires in less than 12 months (June 2023).

However, Lille are ‘more inclined’ to sell to Milan who are offering €12m for a permanent deal this summer, whereas the Parisians  have offered €15m including bonuses but money that would be paid next year.

There has now been a deadlock for two weeks and while Sanches had previously rejected Milan’s attempts in favour of PSG, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will not give up because they clearly think they still have a chance.

    1. Don’t worry, we are free from this story now.

P$G have found agreement with Lille for the transfer.

To any of you thinking Sanches will improve our midfield, remember this: Sanches is not a DM, he is not suitable for double pivot. He can’t replace Kessie as he lack defensive quality comparable to Kessie. Even if he arrive in Milan, he is likely be moved to advanced position like Krunic was late last season.

The reason media linked Sanches to Milan is because Sanches often visit Milano to see his ex-teammates and Maldini often meet with Mendes who also represent Milan player. Maldini never talk about Sanches or meet him directly.

    1. P$G know he is not worth 40m with that injury history. Milan will only sell a player if he fail to meet expectation.

  1. Do the deal, and let’s get this over. We need whoever is going to replace Kessie in the team before the start of the league. This has dragged on for too long. We lost Botman, and his alternative, Bremer. Now we are talking about Tanganga and Abdou Diallo, and still delaying in getting the deal over the line.

  2. Sure, Milan want this cripple with a scumbag agent! We have Pobega. We don’t need a player that’s had 6 years of unused potential.

    1. Milan just help Mendes to help him get better salary for Sanches in P$G, hopefully, Mendes return the favor by going easy on Leao’s renewal.

    1. Lets just face it, Sanches is not Milan’s priority, CDK is.

Milan willingly increased their offer to Brugge for CDK by large amount while the media said Milan unwilling to increase salary offer for Sanches even just slight amount, isn’t it?
