AC Milan are expecting to announce the renewal of Ismael Bennacer in the coming days and it will be a statement for the club’s project.
Antonio Vitiello writes in his editorial for MilanNews that one of the most important signatures will arrive soon, as Bennacer will soon sign an extension that is fundamental for the project.
Compared to last season, the Algerian has levelled up even more, meaning that by now the player’s value has skyrocketed. This means that the Rossoneri being able to keep hold of him is a victory in itself, as Bennacer has decided to accept Milan’s offer of €4m net per season plus bonuses after months of negotiations.
Talks have been going on for over a year but only recently – with the change of agent to Enzo Raiola – has there been a real turning point. Bennacer has always prioritised a renewal and in the end they reached an agreement on the salary.
The extension will be until 2027 and will have a €50m release clause just as his current deal does, but is only valid in July and will only become active in the summer of 2024.
