Report: AC Milan make contact with Genoa over potential Calabria replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will make a move for Genoa full-back Paolo Ghiglione should one of their own defenders leave, according to a report.

It was reported by Genoa-based newspaper il Secolo XIX (via MilanNews.it) the idea of a swap deal involving right-back Ghiglione and Krzysztof Piatek should not be excluded, with the two clubs keen on the idea for different reasons.

According to Radio Rossonera’s Pietro Balzano Prota, the Rossoneri have probed the ground with Genoa regarding a potential deal for Ghiglione.

In case they lose a full-back – either in January or in June – then Milan could choose to make their interest concrete and pursue the player more aggressively.

The 22-year-old has five Serie A assists already this season and would likely be a replacement for Davide Calabria, who continues to be linked with a move away from Milan having lose his starting spot to Andrea Conti for the time being.
