Report: Barcelona and Atletico Madrid interested in move for influential AC Milan star

Barcelona are interested in the idea of signing AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli, a report claims, but they face competition from Atletico Madrid.

Alessio Romagnoli is a focal point of Elliott Management’s project at Milan, thus earning the captain’s armband, and despite the team’s poor start to the season, he has managed to remain consistent performance-wise.

It was reported by Calciomercato.com last month that Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are both keeping tabs on the player ahead of a potential move in the summer.

The same outlet then went one further by claiming that Atleti are lining up a bid for Romagnoli, whose contract expires in June 2022.

According to the latest from Alfredo Pedulla, the two LaLiga sides remain interested in the idea of buying the Milan captain, with Barca thinking of a potential future move.

However, it all depends on how the renewal of his contract goes – a subject which is set to be discussed with Romagnoli’s new agent Mino Raiola before the end of the season.
