Report claims Milan could move for €21m Man Utd defender who is fighting for future

AC Milan’s latest track may lead to Manchester as they look to find an upgrade in a problem area, according to a report.

Stefano Pioli has struggled for consistency on the right side of his defence as both Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have not found form week-in week-out, plus they have both been affected by suspensions and injuries.

A number of different targets have been mentioned in the media such as Denzel Dumfries, Serge Aurier and Paolo Ghiglione, but now a new name has cropped up.

According to a report from MilanNews, rumours come from England that Manchester United are ready to get rid of Diogo Dalot.

The Portuguese right-back joined from Porto back in 2018 for a fee believed to be in the region of €21.6m (via Wikipedia), but he has ended up on the fringes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans and it seems an exit is inevitable.

The report adds that Milan could now step forward, as the 21-year-old is a profile that seems to marry perfectly with the project that owners Elliott Management and CEO Ivan Gazidis have in mind.

The player by characteristics has been compared to Dani Alves and his compatriot Joao Cancelo.
