Report: Lille midfielder ‘getting closer to Milan’ with ‘advanced talks’ underway

AC Milan are proceeding with a deal for Renato Sanches are are close to landing the Lille midfielder, according to a journalist.

Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Renato Sanches over the past few months as it has become clear that Franck Kessie must be replaced, who will not renew his contract and appears destined to join Barcelona on a free transfer.

Things went quiet regarding the Portugal international but it seems that Milan have accelerated in recent days to try and overcome potential competition, as Nicolò Schira wrote on his Twitter.

He claims that Sanches is ‘getting closer to Milan’ as he is ‘the main target’ for the Rossoneri who are looking for a new midfielder. There are now ‘advanced talks with Lille and his agent Jorge Mendes to try to finalise the deal’.

Renato Sanches recently recovered from a muscle problem and is back to being a key man in the starting XI for Lille.

  1. Why not give pobega chance to prove himself rather than buy Renato 20m euro and pay him salary double than pobega salary

    1. We need BOTH. Need a player to replace Kessie AND someone to replace Bakayoko – which is poegba. Challenging for CL, League and Cup – need more mids and Poegba still unproven at bigger club. He’s young and needs time. No need to put additional pressure on him. Let him grow and flourish.
