Report: Major AC Milan, Man Utd managerial target offers services to Barcelona

By Oliver Fisher -

Massimiliano Allegri has offered his services to Barcelona if Ernesto Valverde is sacked, a report claims, amid speculation he could return to AC Milan.

Last week, il Corriere della Sera claimed that director Zvonomir Boban is readying a revolution at Milan with only six players current deemed not for sale. The paper also added that he wants Max Allegri to return to the club as head coach.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail stated recently that the 52-year-old was ‘content to delay an immediate return to management’ after leaving Juventus – where he had won five straight Scudetti – with Manchester United ‘top of his wishlist’ in terms of a next job.

However, Mundo Deportivo believe that Allegri has set his sights on the Barca job with Valverde’s future under serious scrutiny. The Catalan giants currently sit level on points with Real Madrid atop LaLiga, but there are doubts about whether the current head coach will continue.

The outlet claims that Allegri has had a number offers during the current season but has not chosen to accept. Instead, he has dedicated himself to his family and to learn English, waiting for a club with a long-term project to make an offer, possibly in the Premier League.

However, now that the Barca bench is potentially in sight, a person close to Allegri has sent them a message stating that he would positively value a proposal from the Catalan club, the report adds.
