AC Milan are the club closest to completing the signing of Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk, a report claims.
The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Miranchuk, and Calciomercato.com reported earlier on Sunday how Paolo Maldini and especially Ricky Massara are bewitched by the player, having expressed their interest in the past.
Reports over the last couple of days have suggested that Atalanta are the team who are firmly ahead in the race to land Miranchuk in a deal that could be completed for €18m plus bonuses.
According to sportrbc.ru however, Milan have prepared a new offer to send to Lokomotiv in order to try and beat the competition from their Lombardy neighbours and the latest club to join the race, Roma.
The website claims to have spoke to a source familiar with the situation, confirming that the player wants to join Milan who at the moment are closer to completing his signing than Atalanta or Roma.
The report adds that Milan will meet Lokomotiv again soon to discuss the new offer.
