AC Milan are closing in on the signing of Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca, according to the latest reports filtering from Spain.
The deep-lying midfielder has been one of the few bright spots for Espanyol in a season which saw them relegated back to the second tier of Spanish football.
Mundo Deportivo (via MilanNews) recently reported that Roca is one of a number of midfield targets that Milan have in view of the summer transfer window. They stated that the Rossoneri were pressing hard to sign the 23-year-old, who has a release clause of €40million and is also being chased by Arsenal.
According to what is being reported by TVC Deportes on Twitter, Roca is in fact close to joining Milan. His agent was in Italy on Friday with the objective of wrapping up negotiations for his client ahead of a new adventure in Serie A.
Roca made 44 appearances for the Barcelona-based club in all competitions this season, amassing two goals and three assists.
