Report: Milan enquire about €70m Real Madrid star in Jorge Mendes talks – the response

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have enquired about information on James Rodriguez during talks with his agent Jorge Mendes, a report from Spain claims.

Rodriguez has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Rossoneri in the past, and it appears his name has come back into fashion among the club’s hierarchy.

Indeed according to what is reported by Don Balon, the Rossoneri club asked about the Colombian when they spoke with Mendes, and were informed that the 28-year-old will indeed leave Real Madrid this summer largely due to the fact his contract expires in 2021.

However, the player allegedly rejected the idea of a move to Milan because his wish is to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami in the MLS, so he would be closer to his family.

Rodriguez joined Real Madrid back in 2014 in a deal believed to be worth in the region of €70million (as per Wikipedia) and has remained there since, barring a two-year loan spell with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The German side had the chance to buy him permanently for €42m but rejected their option.
