AC Milan are in ‘very advanced talks’ over the signing of Emerson Royal from Barcelona, according to the latest reports from Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Milan are keen on signing Emerson in the upcoming window but will not pay the €30m asking price set by Barcelona.
On Monday, there were new contacts between the parties to discuss the possible departure of the player, who is jointly owned by Barça and Betis, and sources close to Milan described the meeting as “very positive” and there is even talk of very advanced negotiations.
Barcelona meanwhile are ‘more cautious’, they confirm contacts with Milan and admit the possible exit of Emerson, but the Catalan side are adamant that nothing has been agreed regarding the Brazilian.
Sources close to the negotiations consider that if the Italians offer a figure close to or slightly higher than €25million, the operation may be closed.
Betis are being kept informed of the developments, while Milan hope to continue talks and close the transfer in the coming days. The player’s agents are also in permanent contact with Milan and are in favour of the operation being carried out.
