Report: Milan join Chelsea and Barcelona in race for Sassuolo sensation Boga

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have joined a number of clubs interested in signing Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga, according to a report.

The Rossoneri are expected to be active in the January transfer window, particularly in attack as the team has scored just 16 goals through the first 16 rounds of the season.

According to Calciomercato.it – who cite Fichajes – Milan have set their sights on Sassuolo star Boga, who was hugely impressive during Sunday’s 0-0 draw between the two sides at San Siro.

He would offer a different dynamic from Milan’s current wing duo of Hakan Calhanoglu and Suso: speed, directness and a goal threat.

Boga is already enjoying the highest-scoring season of his career, reaching four goals from just 13 appearances in Serie A.

However, Milan seemingly face stiff competition for the 22-year-old, as Catalan publication Sport claimed that Barcelona are ready to present an offer for Boga as part of a partnership between themselves and Sassuolo.

Meanwhile, Chelsea apparently also have a £3.5m (€4m) buy-back option which was inserted when he left Stamford Bridge for Italy two years ago.
