AC Milan have joined rivals Juventus and Inter in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, a report claims.
According to a recent report form il Corriere della Sport – as cited by Calciomercato.com – head coach Stefano Pioli was promised funds in January to strengthen the squad he has inherited.
Club director Boban also expressed frustration at not being able to sign some more experienced players over the summer, and backed up those comments earlier in the week.
According to MilanNews.it – who cite Catalan outlet Sport – claim that Milan are one of five teams in total who are monitoring Rakitic’s situation.
The Croatia international has played just 186 minutes of competitive action under Ernesto Valverde this season and recently complained about his lack of playing time.
The report claims that Rakitic’s valuation is just €35million, whereas back in October 2018 it was double that, and it will apparently only continue to go down.
Juventus and Inter will provide competition in Serie A, while overseas the most interested teams are Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham, the outlet concludes.
