Report: Milan ready €12m bid for Wigan and USA star; Maldini ready to fly him over

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to launch a bid for Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson, according to the latest reports from England.

Just as it seemed the Rossoneri wouldn’t need to sign a back up left-back in the current window due to the doubts surrounding Ricardo Rodriguez’s exit, the situation has sprung to life.

Sky Italia though are reporting that the Turkish Federation have now given their ‘ok’ for Fenerbahce to finally complete the purchase of Rodriguez, and that Milan are awaiting an official bid from the Istanbul club for the Swiss left-back so the deal can go through as planned.

According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Milan are ready to make their move to secure their ideal replacement, with a £10m (€12m) bid being readied for Wigan and USA international full-back Antonee Robinson.

The report claims that Paolo Maldini wants to fly Robinson over for talks this weekend, and that Wigan will not be able to stand in Robinson’s way, with the money too much to turn down as it gives them funds to strengthen in other areas.
