Report: Newcastle the only team left as Spurs pull out of race for €41m-rated Milan man

AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek is attracting interest from Premier League side Newcastle United, according to a report.

The latest update from Tuttosport on Saturday claimed that the future of Piatek is still to be deciphered. The 24-year-old is still on the market and several teams are taking an interest, especially in England.

However, the newspaper also claimed that despite the fact there have been many enquiries and some offers, none of them have been for a permanent deal. Milan hopes to get at least €30m from the sale of the ‘Pistolero’.

According to English outlet The Sun, Newcastle are the only team left in the running to buy Piatek outright as Spurs have now pulled out of the race.

However, they add that Piatek would only consider a move to a club in Champions League contention, and that he would rather stay in Milan to fight for a place in the team rather than join a mid-table club.

Piatek’s agents have apparently travelled to England to see what the market has to offer, but a £35m (€41m) asking price has been set.
