AC Milan have not yet taken any concrete steps towards the signing of Barcelona right-back Emerson, according to a report.
A number of different outlets have credited Milan with interest in the Brazilian as they look to fix what has been a problem position all season for head coach Stefano Pioli.
However, according to the information collected by Calciomercato.it, the situation is a little less concrete than some of those stories suggest.
At present, no firms steps have been taken by Milan in large part due to the fact the targets to strengthen the team in view of the next season are not yet clear.
There are other things which much first be sorted, such as the management that will control the recruitment side of things. In any case, Emerson will not return to Barcelona given the limited space available, but Betis may decide to let him go one year early from his loan spell if they were to make some money out of it.
Under contract with Barcelona until 2024, Emerson’s valuation is around €25million euros.
