Reports: Barcelona playmaker Coutinho could be an opportunity for Milan – €50-60m deal possible

The opportunity to sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in a cut-price deal could present itself to AC Milan, according to a report.

Calciomercato.it are reporting that Milan could look to make waves in January by bringing in a big name to help them push for silverware in the immediate future, and the Coutinho situation continues to be monitored closeley.

They cite Don Balon who report that the explosion of Pedri – who was among the best performers against Juventus on Wednesday night – has called into question the future of Coutinho.

The Brazil international is not sure of his future under Ronald Koeman having already been offloaded once by Barcelona, on loan to Bayern Munich, and he could even return to being on the market.

The report adds that a ‘real opportunity’ is looming for Milan in case of qualification for the next Champions League. The Catalan side paid €160million to land him from Liverpool, but Coutinho could leave Barcelona at a much lower figure, around €50-60m due also to the Covid crisis.

The 28-year-old is on a contract which is due to expire in 2023.
