Reports: Chelsea defender rejects West Ham with Milan tipped to launch new assault

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has refused a move to West Ham United as AC Milan remain in the running to land him, a report claims.

Going into deadline day, Milan know they need a centre-back before the window closes at 20:00 CEST given that they currently have only two healthy players in that particular department.

A move for Ozan Kabak of Schalke is now off and a bid for Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg has reportedly been rejected, so the name of Antonio Rudiger is once again swirling.

According to The Guardian (via MilanNews), West Ham tried have made a late attempt Rudiger, reports Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg. The German international refused the Hammers’ proposal, while Milan are still in the running for the defender.

That is according to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, who believes Milan will make a new attempt for the former Roma star, with reports that Spurs are also interested.
