Reports: Milan alerted as Fiorentina may be forced to sell star striker for €40m

By Oliver Fisher -

It has all gotten complicated regarding the potential renewal of Dusan Vlahovic and the striker could leave Fiorentina next summer, a report claims.

TMW reports how Fiorentina and Rocco Commisso are trying to work with Vlahovic to convince the Serbian centre-forward to sign an extension, but have not found an agreement with his agent Darko Ristic despite the fact he has been to Florence several times and the white smoke seemed close.

Vlahovic wanted to stay to keep growing rather than forcing a move to a bigger club in the summer, and in recent months there have been talks between the entourage and the club over a new deal with a pay rise, with Fiorentina offering €4m net per season plus bonuses.

La Viola wanted to insert a release clause for next June and that is where the sticking point is, because they believe the 22-year-old has an €80m valuation. The feeling is that Vlahovic will not renew in the end and they will have to sell him for €40-50million at the end of the season.

How does this relate to Milan? Several sources have reported that the Rossoneri see him as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic long term, and MilanLive confirm that the management are monitoring his situation.

  1. He is gonna be one of the best number 9 in the future if we can get him we gonna have one really good number 9 for the next 10 years! Its a guarante of 20+ gols season!

  2. so can’t we make his agent a offer of 5-6m , when he will be a free client or offer Fiorentina to take him of them for something in a cut-price deal in January? This is the way that seems to be happening for us a lot involving PSG (Dollaruma, Kessie etc..) :Þ

  3. Already starting with the crazy speculations? Can’t we just enjoy the first half of the season without these crazy notions that we are going to sign a €40M striker when struggle with getting over the line for a €15M midfielder?

  4. Given interest from the EPL I doubt he will go to Milan, but if we can pull it off it will be a real coup. I can see Vlahovic leading the line with Pellegri as the main backup. Both big young talented strikers. Let’s see what happens.

    1. If he is smart he will stay in Italy for a few more years, who knows how would he do in EPL. Anyway, if they get him in January, I am sure he would be ecstatic to train and play with Ibra

  5. Fairytale, we don’t have 40mill to splash on a single player, and with the way Tonali’s loan plus option to buy was handled I don’t think any Seria A club will be willing to do business with us using such formular especially when it’s a prize asset.

    1. Davo, there are a lot of nuances with the Tonali deal. 1. Brescia is in Serie B and doesn’t have the same clout as Fiorentina. 2. The will of the player is important. Tonali wanted Milan. 3. The initial deal was overvalued and the player was also sub-par last season. I don’t think something like that repeats itself with Vlahovic. It takes two to tango and Fiorentina would simply refuse to renegotiate any deal. As a matter of fact, I doubt Fiorentina would negotiate anything less than a permanent transfer (as would the player).

  6. I say, give them Bennacer, Castillejo, 15-20M and invite Commisso for dinner, nice place, with candles and garlic bread and everything.

  7. Assuming he wants to play for us – we should do everything we can to Sign him at all fkn costs. A front line of Leao/Valhovic and Faivre would be absolutely devastating. A future starting 11 of the below would be magical:

    Leao Valhovic Faivre
    Adli
    Tonali Kamara

    Theo Tomori Kalulu Calabria

Kessie and Romagnoli will be gone and after another year so will Diaz (unfortunately due to buy back clause. Just my wishful thinking….
