By Oliver Fisher -

A number of sources have now confirmed that AC Milan are advancing in talks for Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.

Pietro Balzano Prota is reporting that Milan’s interest in Dalot is real and concrete and that negotiations are underway. Roma are also interested, but at the moment Milan are working on the formula of the deal and are pushing harder.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that it is AC Milan vs AS Roma for the 21-year-old. Milan are still in talks with United for the right back, while Roma asked for him as part of the Smalling deal.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan’s sporting director Frederic Massara has presented a loan offer with an option to buy for the former Porto man. The English club would like a permanent sale, but the parties are in constant contact and are close to agreeing a deal.

They add that Roma are also interested in the Portuguese starlet, but Milan have pointed their arrow sharp and plan to close soon, with ‘very positive feelings’.
