Reports: Milan interested in Arsenal playmaker; club wants to sell

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering a move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil in January, according to reports from Spain.

With the Rossoneri having lost four of their first six games to start the season, attentions have already turned to potential reinforcements in the winter transfer window.

Director Zvonomir Boban admitted his regret at not adding more experience after the market shut, and a youthful Milan side have so far failed to rise to the challenge.

Spanish outlet Fichajes – who cite the Mirror and Calciomercato – are reporting that Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil could be a possible option for Milan in January, with the Gunners looking to get rid of the German as soon as possible.

Arsenal are even apparently willing to pay part of his huge €21m-a-year salary to accommodate his exit, the report claims, and the Rossoneri could subsequently try and secure a loan swoop.
